Bats is a gothic animated chat widget for Twitch streams, framing every message in a stone cave-rock border while real Twitch badges glow beside each name. Bats hang quietly below the frame, and a moonlit glow keeps the whole chat box soft instead of harsh even during a packed raid train.
Bats is a gothic animated chat widget built for Twitch and StreamElements, styled as a cave-rock ledge with hand-drawn bats hanging below the frame. It carries 37 individual settings, covering side, alignment, message count, hide-after timer, entrance animation, font, size and colour, so the widget can be recoloured and repositioned without touching code. Real Twitch badges — subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits — sit beside each username, and Twitch, 7TV and BTTV emotes render inline in the chat feed. Five alert types are built in: sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow, each with its own accent colour so a cheer never reads like a raid. An ignore list and hide-commands option keep the feed free of bot spam. Install takes one click through the StreamElements widget importer, then the widget connects with nothing more than a Twitch channel name, and a built-in preview page lets you test chat and alerts before going live.
I built Bats for streamers who want their chat to feel like a page from a dark fairy tale, not a flat rectangle bolted onto the corner of the screen. Drop the file into the StreamElements widget importer and point it at your Twitch channel name, and the cave-rock frame is live in under a minute. There's no code to touch and nothing to host yourself.
Bats works as a standard OBS browser source too, if you'd rather run it outside StreamElements directly in your scene. The included preview page lets you trigger test alerts before your stream starts, so you're never guessing how a raid or a tip alert will look on screen. It's licensed for personal and commercial use on your own channel — just don't resell or redistribute the files.
