Bog is a gothic animated chat widget for Twitch streamers, framing every message in moss-covered bog-oak wood with drifting green wisps and swamp light. Each plank frame glows faintly in the dark, like a lantern left out in a swamp at night. It's built for StreamElements and drops into OBS as a browser source in under a minute.
Bog is a hand-drawn gothic chat box overlay for Twitch, designed for StreamElements and built to sit inside OBS as a browser source. The widget wraps every chat message in a weathered bog-oak frame, with soft green wisps drifting past the wood and tiny glowing moths settling along the edges. Real Twitch badges appear beside each name, covering six types: subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime, and bits. Five alert types are built into the same chat feed: sub, tip, cheer, raid, and follow. Each one carries its own accent colour, so a raid never looks like a tip. Three emote sources — Twitch, 7TV, and BTTV — all render natively, and an ignore list with hide-commands keeps the feed clean during a busy raid train. Thirty-seven settings let you reshape the widget without touching code.
Install takes one step through the StreamElements widget importer. The widget connects the moment you type in your Twitch channel name — no API keys, no manual field-matching. A built-in preview page lets you trigger test alerts before going live, so you can check colours and timing in private. Drop the browser source into OBS once, and it stays in place scene after scene.
Every piece of Bog can be retuned without opening a single layer file. You can set which side of the screen the chat sits on, how messages align, and how many stay visible. A hide-after timer controls how long each message lingers before it clears. Entrance animation, fonts, sizes, and colours are all adjustable, so the swamp glow can shift toward your own palette.
I built Bog for streamers who want their chat to feel like part of the scene, not just a sidebar. The mood sits somewhere between a dark fairytale and an actual bog at midnight. It's yours to use across your own channels, for personal and commercial streams alike; just don't resell or redistribute the files. If gothic, moody, and a little bit enchanted is the direction your stream is headed, Bog was made for exactly that.
