Cartouche is a hand-drawn gothic chat box widget for Twitch streamers, framing every message in gold cord and hieroglyph artwork inside StreamElements. I built this twitch chat widget for anyone who wants chat that feels like an ancient temple at midnight, not a generic box bolted onto a scene. Real Twitch badges for subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits sit beside every name, so your community gets recognized the moment they speak.
Cartouche is a StreamElements chat box overlay built for Twitch, designed with a hand-drawn gothic theme of gold cord borders and hieroglyph patterns around every chat line. The widget covers five alert types inside the chat feed — sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow — and each one plays with its own accent colour so viewers can tell them apart at a glance. It reads real Twitch badges across six tiers: subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits, so mods and top supporters stand out without extra setup. Emotes pull from three sources, Twitch, 7TV and BTTV, and you get an ignore list plus hide-commands so the chat stays readable during a busy raid. Underneath all of that sit 37 individual settings covering side, alignment, message count, hide-after timer, entrance animation, fonts, sizes and colour, so the whole widget can be recoloured to match your scene in a few clicks.
Installation is a one-click job through the StreamElements widget importer. Drop the file in, and the gothic frame is already wired for sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow events. Connect it with just your Twitch channel name — no extra account or token needed. In OBS it runs as a standard browser source, with a built-in preview page for testing alerts and chat before you go live.
Cartouche suits anyone leaning into a dark academia, dark fantasy or Halloween-ready aesthetic who wants chat to match the rest of the scene. Every colour is yours to change, so the gold can shift to silver, rose or whatever your palette calls for. It's yours after one purchase, for personal and commercial use on your own channels — just please don't resell or redistribute the files.
