Crypt is a gothic animated chat widget for Twitch and StreamElements, framing every chat message inside a bronze crypt door with a lion-head door knocker. I designed it for streamers who want their chat to feel like a scene, not a sidebar. Every name, badge, and alert enters through that same crypt door.
Crypt includes a hand-drawn crypt door frame in aged bronze, with a lion-head knocker that lights up beside each new message and 37 settings covering color, layout, and timing. Real Twitch badges — subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime, and bits — sit next to every name, so your mods and top supporters are easy to spot at a glance. Sub, tip, cheer, raid, and follow alerts appear inside the same chat feed, each with its own accent color, instead of popping up as a separate box that breaks the scene. The widget reads Twitch, 7TV, and BTTV emotes, so whatever your chat already uses shows up correctly without extra setup. An ignore list and hide-commands option keep spam and bot clutter out of view. Built for StreamElements and StreamElements-compatible OBS browser sources, Crypt is ready to test on a preview page before it ever touches your live scene.
Setup takes about a minute, not an afternoon of fiddling with code. Crypt drops into StreamElements through the widget importer, then connects to your channel with nothing more than your Twitch username. Add it to OBS as a browser source and the crypt door sits in your scene, already matched to your layout. A preview page lets you test chat messages and alerts before you ever go live.
Every part of Crypt can be retuned without touching code. Move the chat to either side of your scene, set how many messages stay visible, choose a hide-after timer, and pick the entrance animation for new messages. Fonts, sizes, and colors are all open — the bronze and moss-green shown here is a starting point, not a limit.
Crypt fits any channel leaning into a dark fantasy, cathedral, or Halloween-stream aesthetic, though the bronze frame reads just as well on a moody horror or vtuber setup.
