Grimoire Gothic Animated Chat Widget for Twitch & OBS

Grimoire is a gothic-themed animated Twitch chat widget that frames every message in a leather-and-brass border, with real Twitch badges beside each name. I built it as a hand-drawn grimoire with ink and gold leaf. A wax-sealed ribbon hangs from every message, so chat looks like a spellbook, not a UI panel. It drops into StreamElements as a widget and sits in OBS as a browser source, ready the moment you add your channel name.

Every chat message sits inside an animated leather-and-brass frame with a dangling silk ribbon, so the chat reads like a page from the grimoire itself. Real Twitch badges — subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits — appear beside each username. Five alert types are built in: sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow, each with its own accent glow. Emotes pull from three sources — Twitch, 7TV and BTTV — so inside jokes and custom art still render correctly. Thirty-seven settings cover side, alignment, message count, hide-after timing, entrance animation, fonts, sizes and colours. That range lets the gothic frame fit a candlelit scene or a brighter one without losing its own mood.

Setup takes one click: the StreamElements widget importer drops Grimoire straight into your dashboard, and it connects the moment you type in your Twitch channel name. A built-in preview page lets you test chat messages and every alert before you go live, so nothing surprises you on stream. An ignore list and hide-command option keep the chat clean when you need it to be. Every colour in the frame can be swapped to match your scene.

I designed Grimoire for streamers who want their chat to feel like part of a dark fantasy world, not a box bolted onto gameplay. It's cozy for a low-lit horror playthrough and moody for a Halloween stream. It also works as a year-round look if gothic already fits your channel.
