Lantern Gothic Twitch Chat Widget for Halloween Streams

Lantern is a hand-drawn gothic chat box overlay for Twitch, framing every live chat message in carved pumpkin art that flickers softly as viewers type. I built it for streamers who want their chat to feel like part of a haunted autumn scene, not a plain box in the corner of the screen. It's an animated Twitch chat widget made for StreamElements, with real badges and emotes built in.

Lantern is an animated gothic chat box overlay built for Twitch and StreamElements, designed around carved pumpkin icons that glow and flicker beside every name. Six kinds of real Twitch badges appear next to each message: subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits. The widget reads Twitch, 7TV and BTTV emotes, so inside jokes and custom emotes show up exactly as viewers type them. Five alert types are built in — sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow — each one lighting the lantern frame in its own accent colour. Underneath the Halloween art sit 37 settings covering side, alignment, message count and hide-after timer. Entrance animation, fonts, sizes and colours are included too, so the whole chat box can be recoloured to match any scene. It installs through the StreamElements widget importer and connects with just your Twitch channel name.

Once it's running, you can test everything from the included preview page before you ever go live, triggering sub alerts, raids and tips to check colours and timing. The widget also works as a plain OBS browser source if you'd rather skip StreamElements entirely. An ignore list and hide-commands setting keep bot messages and spam out of the frame, so your chat stays readable during a raid.

Lantern suits any Twitch streamer leaning into a cosy dark-fantasy or Halloween aesthetic, from a seasonal sub-goal push to a year-round gothic brand. The zip file is yours after one purchase, for personal and commercial use on your own channels.
