Marionette is a gothic animated chat widget for Twitch and Kick, framing every message in a hand-carved wooden puppet-stage with skeleton marionettes. I built it around a single image: puppets swinging gently on strings in the corners of an antique gold frame, over a deep burgundy damask backdrop. It reads like a stage curtain for your chat, not another flat overlay stuck in the corner of your screen.
Marionette is a hand-drawn gothic chat box built for StreamElements. Real Twitch badges sit beside every name in chat: subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime and bits. It installs in one click through the StreamElements widget importer. It connects the moment you type in your Twitch channel name, with no coding and no manual editing. Sub, tip, cheer, raid and follow alerts appear inside the same chat feed. Each alert carries its own accent colour, so a tip reads differently from a new follow at a glance. Emotes from Twitch, 7TV and BTTV render inline, alongside an ignore list and hide-commands option. Underneath sit 37 settings covering side, alignment, message count, hide-after timer, entrance animation, fonts, sizes and colours. The frame can shift from candle-orange to moonlit violet without touching a single line of code, all from the built-in settings panel.
Drop Marionette into OBS as a browser source, or let StreamElements host it directly. Either way, there's a preview page built in, so you can test chat messages and every alert type before you go live. Colours, fonts and animation speed are all adjustable from the settings panel, so the gothic palette can run warmer or cooler depending on your scene. No extra software or plugins are required beyond StreamElements and OBS.
Marionette suits streamers building a dark-fantasy, horror or Halloween-season channel, and it works just as well as a year-round gothic aesthetic for VTubers and cozy-horror creators alike. Once it's installed it's yours: drop it in, pick your colours, and let the puppets do the rest. I designed it as a small piece of theatre for your stream, not just a utility bar at the edge of the screen.
