Mummy wraps every Twitch message in a hand-drawn gothic frame — linen-textured badges, glowing amber eyes, and a soft moonlit glow for StreamElements chat. I built this gothic chat box overlay for streamers who lean into dark fantasy and Halloween-season moods, without losing chat readability. It drops into StreamElements as a widget import, so there's no coding and no manual CSS edits.
Mummy is a hand-drawn gothic chat box overlay built for StreamElements, designed for Twitch streamers who want their chat to feel like it belongs inside a forgotten tomb rather than a plain data box. Every message sits inside a linen-wrapped frame with amber eye accents, and real Twitch badges — subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime, and bits — appear beside each name. Five alert types, sub, tip, cheer, raid, and follow, each trigger with their own accent colour, so a raid doesn't read the same as a quiet follow. Chat recognises Twitch, 7TV, and BTTV emotes, with an ignore list and hide-commands option to keep spam out. 37 settings cover side, alignment, message count, hide-after timer, entrance animation, fonts, sizes, and colours, so the whole look can shift without touching code. It installs with the StreamElements widget importer and only needs your Twitch channel name to connect.
Setup takes a StreamElements account and your Twitch channel name. The importer pulls Mummy in as a ready widget, and OBS picks it up automatically once you add it as a browser source. A built-in preview page lets you trigger sample chat messages and every alert type before you go live, so you can check colours and animation timing without waiting for a real donation. Everything on the overlay, from the frame tint to the entrance animation, can be changed after install — no need to re-download if you want to try a different palette later.
Mummy suits streamers running horror, dark fantasy, or Halloween-season content. It also works year-round as a moody aesthetic for any channel that wants chat to feel designed, not default. You get the full set of files once, for personal and commercial use on your own channels — just please don't resell or redistribute them. I'm August, and I design these overlays one at a time — Mummy got its linen wraps and amber glow because gothic chat should feel atmospheric, not generic black-on-black.
