Scarecrow Gothic Twitch Chat Widget - Animated Chatbox

The Scarecrow Gothic Twitch Chat Widget is a hand-drawn harvest-horror chatbox that frames every message in jute rope and rustling straw, softly glowing. I built it for streamers who want their chat to feel like part of a haunted harvest scene, not a plain box bolted onto their layout. Every subscriber, VIP, and moderator badge sits right where chat normally expects them, so nothing about your layout changes.

Scarecrow is an animated StreamElements chat box styled around three scarecrow guardians — Nightshade, Vesper, and Mooncaller — watching over your messages. Jute rope and straw frame every line of chat, with straw that sways as if caught in a night wind. Real Twitch badges sit beside each name: subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime, and bits. Twitch, 7TV, and BTTV emotes all render inside the chat, so viewers can use whatever emote sets your channel runs. Five alert types appear directly in the feed instead of as separate pop-ups: sub, tip, cheer, raid, and follow, each in its own accent colour. An ignore list and hide-commands option keep the feed free of clutter. Underneath the lantern-lit browns, 37 settings cover side, alignment, message count, hide-after timing, entrance animation, fonts, sizes, and colours. That range lets one streamer run it moody and gothic while another keeps it light and autumnal.

Setup takes one click: import the StreamElements widget, connect it with your Twitch channel name, and the scarecrows start watching your chat. It works as a browser source in OBS, Streamlabs, or any software that supports browser sources. A built-in preview page lets you test alerts and chat behaviour before you ever go live.

I designed Scarecrow for anyone leaning into a Halloween or dark-harvest aesthetic without losing the cozy side of autumn. It fits a moody fantasy channel just as well as a lighthearted pumpkin-patch stream. You own the files once you download them, free to use on your own channel for personal or commercial streaming.
