Stitches is a hand-drawn Frankenstein-style gothic chat box widget for Twitch, built for StreamElements and ready to drop into an OBS scene in minutes. I built it for streamers who want their chat to feel like part of a story, not a plain text box bolted onto the corner of the screen. Every message gets a stitched-leather frame, a glowing green portrait icon, and the occasional spark of electricity.
Stitches is an animated Twitch chat overlay built around a Frankenstein's-monster theme: a stitched-hide border wraps every message, sparking bolt icons flicker beside active chatters, and a glowing green monster-face avatar sits next to each name. The widget runs inside StreamElements and connects with just your Twitch channel name, so there is no manual API setup. It displays sub, tip, cheer, and raid alerts directly inside the chat feed, each one tagged with its own accent colour so donations and follows stand out from regular messages. Real Twitch badges (subscriber, VIP, moderator, founder, Prime, and bits) appear beside usernames, and emotes from Twitch, 7TV, and BTTV all render inline. Underneath the Frankenstein skin sit 37 individual settings covering side, alignment, message count, hide-after timer, entrance animation, fonts, sizes, and colour, so the stitched-hide look can be recoloured without touching the layout.
The theme leans into Halloween and dark-fantasy streams, but the stitched-hide frame and green glow work just as well as a year-round moody aesthetic. Swap the accent colour and the monster bones stay, while the palette becomes your own. It suits horror, cozy gothic, and dark fantasy channels alike.
Install takes one click through the StreamElements widget importer, and the included preview page lets you test chat messages and alerts before you go live. An ignore list and hide-commands setting keep bot spam and slash commands out of the feed. As a browser source, Stitches drops straight into OBS or any software that accepts StreamElements overlays.
Once you own the files, Stitches is yours to use on every stream you run under your own StreamElements account. The download includes the full widget package, ready to import without any extra software or coding.
